OK - have been following up the Swetman link......

William Swetman - born about 1812/1814

On the 1841 census - he was a shoemaker aged 25 - born out of counter.
Later censuses give Norwich & Norfolk

Baptism of William Swetman 31 January 1813  Norwich St Michael at Coslany, Norfolk
Also a James - baptised 1814 - Both sons of William & Ann

Have not found a marriage for William and Ann, BUT have found a marriage of ..
1. William Swatman & Henrietta Lyon/Loyn 1783 St Margaret's, Norwich
&
2. Mark Knobs & Henrietta Swatman - widow - either 1793 or 1796  St Michaels Coslany, Norwich.

These are 2 leads that I will need to follow up - The latter had a son James, but it is not clear whether he died in infancy. I have found these on various internet sources, so I need to get in touch with the Norwich records office again to get copies of the original entries!

Fingers crossed - but it seems too much of a coincidence!!
