Looking for
George Thornhill b. 1838 Tarrant Monkton
Priscilla wife b. 1839 Salisbury, Wilts
Ada b. 1867
William b. 1868
Frederick 1870
Annie b. 1882
Arthur b. 1884
Alfred b. 1886
Children b. Longfleet Dorset.
On the 1881 census they were living in Nile Roaw, St.James Dorset
and George was a buss driver

Well - don't know where William was in 1871 - they must have forgotten to write his name down!

Living at Sharnbook, Beds. He is lodging with John Clark, groom and coachman at Coachmans House and Rooms, Sharnbook. His occupations is : Carriage Room. There are 6 other stable workers lodging there.

I have done some marriages for them
Herbert William Thornhill married Phebe Sarah in 1892
Frederick James married Kate in 1894
Frederick died in 1900 so Kate would be a widow aged about 29 and she was b.poole.

Not exactly a success, I have to say!
Ada Thornhill married Q3 1885 Poole.
to either Thomas Butcher or Joseph James Watkins.
I cannot find Ada in any guise on the 1891.
However, in 1901

Lily Butcher Dau 14 B. Dorset Poole
Annie Prescilla Butcher birth reg. Q4. 1885 Poole
Lily Clara Butcher birth reg. Q3 1888 Poole
Thomas Butcher death reg. Q4 1899 Poole, age 34
But I can't find any of them in 1891 - I've tried no surname, no first name, no year of birth - I can't find them. So apart from his name and approx. date of birth, I don't know anything about Thomas!
Annie Thornhill married Q1 1900 Poole
Either John Evans Durston or George Miles
I can't find Annie in any guide in 1901
The other lady on the page was Bessie Strickland, and I found a John E Durston b. 1880 married to Bessie B. 1882 Poole
So I guess Annie marred George Miles - but they can't be found in 1901.
I'm afraid that's the best I can do, Marj - maybe someone can find them for you!
