Trying to trace Robert Henderson b 26/12/1819 in Moreham, E.Lothian who married initially Agnes (b 28/6/1826 at Carmylie) nee Addison 22/10/1847 at Arbroath and lived there, after Agnes's death, he remarried Marjory Strachan nee Dewar ( b 15/5/1840 at Dundee) 15/1/1861 again at Arbroath. He had 5 children, his new wife and his sister, Elisabeth living with him at 1861 census in Arbroath. However after 1861 I cannot trace him or any of that family from 1861. Help would be gratefully received to check whether they emigrated. CR

Hi CM, I've no dates for the family other than whats on the 1861 census-surely Marjory would've had the children living with her even if Robert died earlier? Unless they all died except Marjory and Jessie C. CR

Hi CR
Ah ... great that these Henderson children had such distinctive names.
I'm guessing that if they had come to NZ as a family, it is likely some of them would have married here ? Alas, none of their names showed up in a check of the NZ Marriage index.
Archives NZ has an army record for a "James Addison HENDERSON - 1914-1918" .... but given the dates, this won't be the son of Robert .... maybe there is a connection though

Hi Lu, Yes strange that 1914-18 record, he'd have been in his 50s then but maybe a son or grandson? CR
