Robert Kilpatrick, married Isabella Fulton, Oct. 26, 1844 in Kilwinning. In the 1851 census he was visiting his wife,s family in Kilwinning. It stated he was a coal miner in Stevenston, Ayr.
I have found a Robert Kilpatrick, b. July 6,1829. in Stevenston Ayr. Parents, William Kilpatrick and Cecilia Jeffrey. Is this the same person?
Any info. appreciated.

Hi Grandma,
If Robert died in Scotland his parents may be named on his death cert. if they were known by informant.
I found a Robert in 1841 census, Stevenson and a coal miner. Transcription is on freecen.

Thanks for the info. I,ll see if I can find a death somewhere. Or maybe a marriage. I have the family group record of the marriage but no names of parents.

Hi Grandma,
I think the Robert Kilpatrick you found born 1829 may be a bit young to have married 1844.
The Robert living in Kilwinning (1841 census) looks like he was born in Stevenson.

Father: JAMES KILPATRICK
Mother: ANN HADDOW
The other children listed with James and Ann in Kilwinning are all on the familysearch site and are also all listed as being born in Stevenson.
His death cert. would hopefully give you the proof you need.
