Hi Can anybody HELP please I have a copy of my Gt Gt Grandfather William Wilcox marriage cert dated 9/10/1839. His age at the time was 27 and married Mary Start aged 28, the residence at the time of marriage was Wexham and his fathers name on the certificate was also William. How can I find out his mothers name and any further details of their births etc Any info would be truly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Michelle,
What is his fathers occupation? That should be stated on the marriage cert.
Also have you tracked him down in all the censuses? You may be lucky and he might have his parents living with him. Otherwise we might be able to track them down searching for William Wilcox (sn) and his occupation.

Many Thanks for the reply I´ve checked the marriage cert for William (Sn) and his profession was a Dom Servant and his father William was listed as a Laborer. Bit miffed with the census as I thought the earliest you could go back was 1837 ish?
