No - I don;t think this is the one. There is an indication on Ancestry that Arthur Poll born 1890 is on the 1891 Census but I am unable to locate details at present - any ideas?

Thanks Ricky - I assumed the age was 10/12 years! Any chance of finding the couple he is with in 1881? I think Arthur was illegit and passed to relatives in the intial stage.

Now I just need to make the connection between Fred Poll and sarah Poll who was born to George and Susan Poll at Shipmeadow Suffolk around 1863/64-all good fun!! I have a suspicion that Arthur Poll - shown as son of Fred and Lucy in 1891 is in fact the son of Sarah Poll. Sarah married in 1892 and by 1901 Arthur is with the family as Arthur Maskell. The family know that he later restyled himself Arthur Sayer Poll but never knew why! I think I am getting there slowly but all ideas gladly received!

Can you see if you can find either William Poll (born c 1826) and George Poll (born c 1826) in 1841 Census for Beccles/Worlingworth/Suffolk.

They may have been brothers and this may be the answer.

I think the first one is right as that seems to match IGI baptisms -and the location stated on later Censues.
Any chance of 1851 for George and William?
