Hello.
I understand that the ' first settled in Falmouth in the mid 1600's. They originated i think from the Hillmorton region in Warwickshire.
I'm trying to link vague Perkins' family origins in Falmouth both to Hillmorton [or elsewhere] and then to known later descendents in the 18th century who settled in Falmouth for a several generations but whose subsequent descendents, some only, emigrated to South Australia in the 19th century.
A published family historian loosely indicates that there was a
[a gardener] and a younger man [a soldier] who were first recorded there in a poll tax of 1660.John was described as "ancient" and died in early March, 1665. Thus he may have moved there much earlier in the century. Did he originate from Warwickshire?
A later record has a baptising his children [5 Feb 1667] and [27 Mar 1671]. Is he the same Jacob who paid a poll tax in 1660. | Jacob's wife is Elizabeth | : ? Whipple or Lovell was her maiden name.
Later a Jacob Perkins is married to a Martha Grose in 1674: would this be Jacob's second marriage, following Elizabeth dying some time before then?
There was also a Thomas Perkins who married a Mary Perkins about the mid 1600's. They had several children and i have their baptismal dates.
Also there is wedding date, 21 Jan 1691, for a John Perkins and Mary Libby. We are presuming that this John is the son of Jacob and Elizabeth, above. John and Mary L had several children however the link with my known antecedants gets blurred here as the record i understand only can suggest that
George Perkins born circa 1702 was a child 7 sibling along with the others given by the record. Was George a younger brother to Hugh, b 20 Dec 1692, Joana, b 12 Mar 1695 and Jacob, b 2 Jul 1697??
I have this George Perkins marrying Mary Bolitho on 29 May 1728 in Falmouth Parish Church. Our records show that they had many children but few survived including a George jr b in 1739. Our family history is clear from hereon.
So in brief i would like to know if it's possible to
1. clarify/confirm a link between possible Warwickshire origins for the Perkins line in the early 1600's in Falmouth; 2. identify the line up to c1702 with George Perkins' birth.
Could you please help on this? Julie

Looking for early PERKINS around cornwall that may point you in some direction I see there is: John Perkens at St Sampson in Cornwall MUster Roll 1569
John Perkyn at Bodmyn and Richard Perkyn at St Stephens/Saltaysche in 1522 Cornwall Military Survey/Tin Muster 1535
World connect has some trees with Perkins/Lovell/Grose http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:3078072&id=I3532 http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=barlekis&id=I1119 plus hundreds more, many of these trees are quite detailed.
