In the 1851 census Thomas Saunders of Bayford Herts. married to Martha had a cousin Joseph with him on census night. Thomass' father was Alexander (Elexander) Saunders married to Ann Umerson and we belive originally came from Southill Beds. For Thomas to have a cousin his father, Alexander must have had a brother and perhaps other siblings. This is where I have hit a brick wall. I cannot find any records of Alexander having any siblings. Can anyone out there help please? Huh

Have you considered the possibilty that the cousin may have been from Martha's side and would therefore become cousin to Thomas by marriage

Thanks for speedy reply. Thomass' cousin has to be a Saunders as they share the same Surname.
