Nottingham marriage John Frearson
« on: Wednesday 09 April 08 15:01 BST (UK) »

I'm looking for the marriage of John Frearson and Sarah? which would have taken place about 1800. It could have been in Nottingham or Derbyshire!!!!!
The 1841 census shows that neither were born in Nottinghamshire, John was born in Derbyshire and I don't know about Sarah.

Their first child was baptised at St Nicholas Nottingham in 1802 and the family lived in and around Nottingham after this.

Hi Eric,
Just found the child's baptism, but surname is slightly different on the record:
Sarah FREESON baptised 08.10.1802   Nottingham St. Nicholas
Father:John  Mother: Sarah
Must be the right one, as there is nothing for the other spelling.
Just going to try to find the marriage for you - back soon.
Kind regards,

Hi Eric,
Back again - there's nothing for the spelling you gave, only this one:
Marriage 02.09.1799    Nottingham St. Mary
John FREESTON to Sarah OGDEN.
Hope this helps,

Hi Paulene,
Thanks for the replies.
That could be the couple I am looking for. I have several spellings of the Frearson name including Freeson. I see in the IGI that a son John was born to a John and Sarah Freeson in Nottingham St Mary in 1800 but no other children with that surname spelling, and then several in other parishes with the Frearson spelling.
I'll work on that and see where it leads.

Hi Eric,
Just to let you know that these were done from the parish registers in Notts, not IGI.
Glad the information is of use.
