Gone but not Forgotten

Help, Can anyone have a go at restoring this picture, Found rolled up in my fathers paperwork. It was too big for an a4 scanner so I did two halves and joined them, plus a bit seems to have been incorrectly stuck on, on the right.
Thanks Allan

To Kali and Caz,
I look on in total disbelief at the work you have done in such a short time. Only one word for them is "EXCELLENT"
Thanks to both of you
Woolley

caz, i just cannot believe the job you have done on this one, i think the guy's in this pic deserve to to be remembered & honoured, i tried my best ( under the influence ) until very late in the morning but eventualy had to give up, you obviously have perseviered and done a proper job and done all them young men proud, what an amazing photograph, i hope it will now take pride of place in somewhere like the british war museum, never to be lost to the lack of respect again, most of the boys depicted probably never survived, you have done a marvelous job caz, love it, kali.

Thanks for the interest shown Caz and Kali,
Too many people tried to distance themselves from this conflict and I share you opinion that their sacrifice should be properly remembered.
The only knowledge I have is that my father joined the RAF late 1942 and he is on that picture, He said it was at RAF Binbrook but who knows, Binbrook was home to the RAAF in 1943. He once told me that Polish aircrew were at the base.
Apart from a few other photos of the base thats the extent of my knowledge, don't you wished you'd asked when you had the chance.
Caz If you still want the original, whats the Max size for E=mail attachments
Cheers Woolley

Yes a phrnomenal photo, and one that took some staging.
I'd also love to hear the story behind it.
I don't think I'd want to be one of those on the outer edge of the wings. It looks a bit too much like those lined up dominos things. If one near the fuselage stumbles, then they are all going over!
Stef.
