Hi Suzy
Found a death notice for Colin ANDERSON.
It was inserted in the "New Zealand Herald" (an Auckland-based newspaper) on 23 December 1966 by his sisters - Bessie, Mary, Florence and Sheila. It sounds as if this may have been perhaps "the only notice" as it included details that cremation had taken place at Rotorua, the previous day, and also gave Sheila's address for communications. ?
I still have the impression that Colin remained a bachelor ?
[Will PM you a copy of notice].
Lu

... and more
TWO death notices located for George Alexander ANDERSON - died 9 May 1959 (buried Purewa Cemetery, Auckland);
The first names his wife and 3 children.
The second notice CONFIRMS he was indeed the son of Barbara and the late Robert ANDERSON !

Wow ... Again .....a huge thank you!! I am so grateful, please don't feel obligated to do my look ups as you have done so many all ready. I am truly grateful for your wonderful help. It is a pity the papers aren't on line for us all to see...like times in England.
I have ordered Colin and George Anderson's death certificates in the hope for actual place of births, also Sheila's marriage to see her birth place, she may have only died in recent years as c 1912 birth.
Thank you so much..... So grateful for your help Lu. Suzy

Hi Suzy
No, there wasn't actually a full address given for communications in Colin's notice .... just "Mrs A. R. Brooker, Aratiatia". [Likely a rural address I would think, where people were known by name and didn't necessarily need an actual street number].

Hi Suzy
(Nah, you're not a pain )
RE: Sheila's address ... it just ocurred to me ... "Aratiatia" is of course the name of the hydro-electric power station (and small settlement of same name). The building of the dam there was completed about 1964 so Sheila's husband (as they lived there in 1967), was probably connected in some way with electric power supply. (Their previous address was at Bunnythorpe, in Manawatu district, and this also has a connection to electric power substations).
[Bit of a guess really ... he might even have been a Methodist minister] ?

Hi Lu
Well they have done it again Dept of Justice certs arrived today. George born Fort George, Scot not India, Colin born Kurra, Ireland [think it maybe Cuura?] and Sheila Limerick Ireland.
George had a 21yr old dau.... 18 yr old dau.... and a 12 yr old son at death?? so one of those names has to turn to a boys name from the obit? Sheila's husband did work at Power station [I was there in 1979 and never knew till recently had rellies in N.Z!!]
Getting closer to the jack pot!!!
