1891 census - keeling [Completed - Thanks]
« on: Thursday 10 April 08 11:55 BST (UK) »

Hi all,

Could anyone with access to the 1891 census records please have a look at  RG 12 / 861 / 88 / page 4 (Sch 26) and tell me the age of Blanche Keeling.

It's been transcribed as 61, I reckon it should be 10 or 11 as the Blanche I'm looking for died in 1896 aged 16; or else there's another one I didn't know about.

Thanks,

Maurice

She's described as Grandaughter - and initially her age was put in the male column, then in female - in both cases the age is clearly 10.

Her mother Louisa is Widowed, her brother Walter was born Malta - so I'm guessing a military connection ?
