What looks like a possibility for Ernest in 1871 - his father is a joiner/carpenter
Ernest maybe followed in his father's occupation - possibly he was not a merchant seaman by the time his sons married ? Or maybe he was a ships carpenter?
lots of possibilities
You really need one of the children's birth certs (for mothers maiden name)
and then the marriage cert for father's names to be certain this is your family

Hi Sue - thats why I quoted the birth reg for Florence Canterbry Wilcox Jun qtr 1863 Bristol - age and p.o.b. fits for it to be her - until 1901 when she decides she's b. Somerset!

I feel sure that it`s the right family, like you said the p.o.b. then the marriage all fit............I wonder why she decided she was born in Somerset?
