Thank you, Deb! I have seen that border crossing and it's definitely my grandfather! From that border crossing I was able to confirm my grandfather's arrival in Canada: At one place on that border crossing form, he said he was born in Dornoch, ON. Of course he wasn't born there and I don't know why he'd say that. But when he came as a 12 year old domestic to Canada in 1900 with Barnardo's boys, he was placed in a home at Dornoch, Ontario on a farm. So that border crossing has led me to a whole new branch of research. I found him clear as a bell on the 1901 Ontario census. Now I've written to Barnardo's organization and they've sent me a request form to fill out and mail in and if they have his records they're going to send them to me! I forgot to tell you that Nellie Winsor (nee Earle) died in 1938 and by about 1940 or so, Archibald remarried a widow lady whose maiden name was Vera Palmer. They ran a little store together called Winsor Confectionary or Grocery in Winnipeg. Archibald liked to bet on horse races and he actually died of a heart attack at the race track in Winnipeg in 1944. Quite a story!

I think I found him on the Regina, Saskatchewan census for 1911 but I have to go back and look it up. That was a long time ago. Did you find it?

I am trying to do the same thing. I remember my now deceased old uncle, Archie's son) telling me that there may have been some Winsor connection to the states. He did not elaborate at all. I'm looking for William (born in 1881, and Edward, born in 1883 to start with because I can't find them on the 1901 UK census. If you consider the second marriage and the children born as a result, there are a lot to check. I'm going to be busy for awhile!!!
