McGEE Family (Dundalk)
« on: Thursday 10 April 08 19:54 BST (UK) »

I'am searching for information on my McGee ancestors who immigrated from Ireland to America, before 1860. I'am not sure but they may have come from Dundalk, County Louth.

James McGee
born: May 5th,1837 Dundalk,Co.Louth,Ireland
lived in Atlanta,Georgia,U.S.A.
alternate info.{from death cert.} born: May 4th,1835 Ireland
                                                    died: 1906 Atlanta,Georgia

James had a brother(my 3rd G-Grandfather) John McGee
John McGee born:1832 Ireland
                   died: 1884 Atlanta,Georgia
Also, a sister named Margaret "Maggie" McGee born: about 1841 Ireland

Religion: Roman Catholic

Best Regards!

Hi John

I don't suppose he had another brother, Francis (or Frank) who remained in Ireland?

I recently found out that my gt grandfather Francis died in Dublin on 26 May 1877 at age 41. (This would give an approximate year of birth as 1836)

Unfortunately I have no details of where he might have been born except that he appears to have married my gt grandmother, Eliza(beth) McNally - can't find a record of any marriage yet either. Anyway they had at least 5 children together, 3 in Drogheda and 2 more in Dublin.

Any thoughts?

Stuart
