Hello and welcome to Rootschat
I can't assist you with this query - but my 2 x great grandmother was a Mary Goddard, born in Hampshire in 1774-ish. I know her parents were George and Elizabeth - and I haven't been able yet to get any further with that line!
Some of them have replies, but not all which seems to indicate that information is not easy to come by, except perhaps at the record office in Winchester. The alternative is to try to borrow the films of the parish records via the LDS and view them at a Family History Centre.
Or were you after something other than mere dates from the records? Unfortunately, unless the family were involved in lands or business, other records may be hard to come by. Were the family prominent in any way such that there might be other stuff? Have you contacted the Hampshire Record Office at all?

My main interest is not in dates but as to whether they had any standing in the community, and as you said, owned any land. This is as far back as I have got with my family. From the late 1700's the majority of the family were farmers, and I presume that the occupation goes all the way back, but that is something I haven;'t found out.

A search of the catalogue of Hampshire Record Office (http://calm.hants.gov.uk/DServeA/ ) produces 751 hits just for Goddard and 44 for John Goddard and only 2 for Holland Goddard. Nicholas Goddard produces 10 hits. All these include wills and administrations. A couple of the John Goddard ones seem to be relevant to Yateley and Cove areas. If they fit any members of your family, they may be worth obtaining to see if they provide useful clues.
The other problem is that at that date, spelling could be very inconsistent and so Goddard may not be Goddard.
