Does anyone have the Parish Registers for Great Tey ?.
I am looking for the birth of Maria Deal c 1816.
Maria married Robert Raven in 1839 .
Any help really appreciated.

That must have been quite a "rave" up for the village of Great Tey in 1839........three Raven's getting married on the same day?....John, Robert & William, which leads me to ask the question..........have you the cert?

The cert will give you "Maria's" father's name and occupation and may even give an address of where she was living at the time of marriage? and will assist the cause........

Quite a few Raven's in Great Tey 1841 but only ten Deal's

JAMES DEAL 20 born Essex + wife & child

THOMAS DEAL 25 born Essex

are they siblings or cousins of "Maria" (is she Mary?)

thanks for the help ,that ties in nicely with the marriage cert which I had ordered and it finally came..
On the cert  her father is down as William Deal occ Husbandman .

Just wondered if she was baptised in Great Tey,and possibly any siblings.

If anyone else is researching Robert and Maria Raven ,the info on the marriage cert is
12/10/1839 Parish of Great Tey Robert Raven age 21 Husbandman of Great Tey son of Thomas Raven Husbandman and Maria Deal spinster Laceworker of Great Tey do William deal Husbandman.
Just thought I would put this info on here as this couple are on Ancestry Tree and the father of Robert is the wrong man ,didn't want anyone to get sidelined by that.
I expect the other Deals are her brothers though I cannot seem to find father William in the 1841 census ....have to keep looking .

Their is a possibility that she was christened at Great Coggeshall (just along the road)........their are 11 Deal's and 31 Raven's living there!

The 1861 states Maria and her husband Robert were born in Great Tey.........

If "Maria" is 23 in 1841 the William below might possibly be her father......and if that is the case? it would probably mean that she was the youngest or one of the youngest going by William's age?

I am SO sorry not to have thanked you sooner ,I didn't see a reply and now feel really guilty. Embarrassed .
Thank You ,that certainly looks like him ,never thought to check the Coggeshall records last time I was at ERO ,darnation.Now that is a good excuse to get off my rear and drive up the dreaded A12 to have a look.
