Hi,
I know from the 1871 census, and the 1881 census that my Great-Great-Great Grandfather (Patrick Harris) was the Manager / Licensed Victualler of at least 2 public houses in Deal.
In the 1871 census, he was the Manager of a Music Hall, namely the Duke of York in Cemetery Road, Deal.
From at least 1879-1884 he was the Licensed Victualler of the Norfolk Arms Inn, West Street in Deal. He had this pub in 1879, as this is his address and occupation on his wife's death certificate in 1879. It is also the adress on the 1881 census, and the addres on his sons death certificate in 1884.
My question is, and I know it's a long shot, are there any local collections of photo's of Deal at this time that would have photographs of Public Houses from these dates? (Hopefully with the landlords)
