When Isabella Chaplin died at Glamis, August 14th 1859, aged 37, her parents were cited as Robert McIntosh (shepherd) and Elizabeth McIntosh MS Grewer (Deceased).
I can find no marriage or other records for Robert and Elizabeth.
Isabella was born and married in Glamis, so chances are her parents were from around there.
Help!

Hi katman,
Can you tell me where you found the death information Isabella Chaplin died at Glamis, August 14th 1859.
I couldn't find either her death or the marriage of her parents on Scotlands People. I used the mothers maiden name to search the death of Isabella but nothing comes up for that date, I also tried 1855 to 1860 still nothing!!

I did find it on Scotland's people, but I should have added that Isabella's surname had been transcribed as Chaplen.

Sorry Katman,
I have searched Scotlands People but I can't find anything either on the marriage of Robert and Elizabeth, I can only think they maybe came from England or Ireland!!

Seems we are researching the same family tree. I too got stuck on Isabella's parents. I did find a birth on IGI for an Elizabeth Grewar in Glamis 1787 to Finlay Gruar.. There was a Finlay Grewar/Gruar born in Glenisla (not far from Glamis) about 1745. In fact the Grewar family seem to originate in Glenisla, so this is a possiblilty. Couldn't find anything so far on Robert McIntosh the shepherd, but still trying.
I don't know if you have any more info on Isabella McIntosh, apart from the fact she died in Charleston Glamis in 1859, but she married George Chaplin in Glamis on 18th January 1845. They had 3 children David 1846 (my link), Betsy 1850 and Robert 1853.. George married again after Isabella's death, to Jane McKiddie and they went on to have several children.
I would have to re-check, but on Isabella's death cert. in 1859, I am sure her mother Elizabeth nee Grewar is still alive.
