William Smith , Coal Dealer, born about 1793, lived in Oxford Street Birmingham in 1851. Can anyone see him in the 1861 census?

Where was he born - birthplaces should be included in all lookup requests

Was he married or widowed in 1851

If married - details of wife please

Nothing for Martha

Only 2 William Smith's b Birmingham on the 1861 for Warwickshire - one was a fish hawker (widower) and the other was a cabinet maker married to Mary

There are 17 entries in total for William Smith born between 1791-1795 (only 5 have wives) but they are born in different parts of Warwickshire

Carole

Thanks for looking. I looked in Freebmd for deaths but there were so many William and Martha Smiths it is impossible to tell if it the correct one. I guess they must have died  between 1851 and 1861 but finding the actual records is a task for another day.

Thanks again.
