Sarah Ellen Roper was my Grandmother's cousin who I think went to South Africa on 23rd July 1920 from Southampton bound for Cape Town.
Family tell me that Sarah Ellen was a Missionary, I have an entry which suggests that she came home in 1959 and sailed back to South Africa on 6th August 1959 from Southampton to Durban. Ship: Pretoria Castle. The address she gave for England was c/o Mucklow, 24 Hereford Rd., Mon. She held a SA passport, was a teacher and single.
At this stage she was well in her 70's and it would seem that she became South African citizen.
I am looking for anyone who may know what she did in the years between 1920 and 1959 or wher I can get information regarding her missionary work
