Hi there,

I have just discovered that my great aunt and uncle lived in M H in 1903 just after they were married at Grantham.  They have the address 11 Angel Row on their marriage cert. I have checked this out and found that the row ran alon the left hand side of The Angel Hotel which i believe is still there.  I am wondering how i can get hold of a household census for 1903 or whether any of the cottages are still there as i am reliably informed part of Angel row is still in existence.  Eise

Census records are compiled only every 10th year.
Last (most recent) one available is 1901 (unless you order by address for 1911 which is 45(?) quid).

Google earth should help with street location.

I will forgoe the £45 quid io htink.  i am a p[ensioner and not a wealthy one at that.  I will have to be satisfied with the info i have from google,(yes i have tried it) and my brother in laws map.  thanks again eise

You may be able to get the information (hopefully free!) from the electoral register for 1903 which will possibly be at Grantham Reference Library or Lincs archives

Hi Eise

Came across your enquiry about Angel Row 1903.I looked at 1901 census in Grantham library and it only mentioned Angel Yard which was at the side of the Angel & Royal hotel.The only tenants listed were

Thomas  Hodson.  head  aged 42  Hotel manager of Tap/pub Born  Pointon Lincs
Sarah      Hodson   wife   aged 33                                 Born  Threckingham  Lincs
Elsie S    Hodson   Daugh aged 9                                   Born Grantham Lincs

What names were you looking for as I could look in Electoral registers in library.
