Hi,
Can you help.I have a Josiah Charlesworth b1750 not sure if Wortley Sheffield?he married Martha Birkinshaw 23rd Oct 1780 in Tankersley near Sheffield.I think she was born around 1755 but i cant be sure.Her father may have been Joseph Birkinshaw b abt 1733 in Wortley Sheffield but i cant find a mother for Matha.Does anyone have more info.

Hi Brenda
I have a Joseph Birkinshaw (farmer) on my Birkinshaw family tree whose son was John, born 17.12.1720 in Wortley. His children were John b. 19.7.1752 and Martha b. 31.8.1755. However I think these might not be my family. If they were there would be another brother Thomas who married Sarah or Mary and they had a son John Birkinshaw b. 1795 who was my great-great grandfather. Does any of this tie in with your Birkinshaw researches?

I have the same as you.Joseph Birkinshaw b 1733 Wortley Sheffield
Daughter Martha b 1755 31st Aug Wortley
Son Joseph b 1761 19th July Wortley
Son John b 1764 22nd Jan Wortley
Son George b1770 1st April
They are all I have at moment but sure they are others.There are loads of bmd's for Birkinshaws in Wortley Its hard trying to sort who belongs to who?
I do know that a Thomas and Mary had a son Joseph 26th Dec 1798 Wortley Sheffield so more than likley he is my Joseph Birkinshaw b 1733 Brother.
Keepin touch. Just going to try and sort My tree re Birkinshaws.Do you have any Eyre@s or Charlesworth's in your tree?
