Is there a marriage between Joseph Maiden and Ann Green at Weaverham c 1827? Two of their children born there before moving to Tixall Staffs. Joseph was a huntsman. Not on IGI.

I have checked the Bertram Merrill index and there is nothing on there.

The reason i ask is because there are 32 Ann/Hannah + Married to a Joseph but none to a Maiden. So this might be a mistranscription. You might have seen but just in case Smiley

There is a marriage between
Joseph Maiden & Ann Gretton 1827 25th July St Phillips Birmingham Warwickshire.

The name Green comes from a GRO birth certificate from Sept 1837. I dont think the Gretton marriage is right because there is a Joseph Maiden married to an Ann living in Birmingham on the 1841 census; he is a tailor and not the right Maiden family who were hunt servants.
I think that if Joseph Maiden and Ann did actually marry, it was at a parish not on the IGI as like you, I have seen all the Ann Green marriages on the IGI and it is not there. Whoever Ann was, she was born Highworth, Wilts and there is no Ann Green or Gretton shown there around 1804; Wiltshire Archives suggest she may have been baptised at the congregational church but no records remain till 1820!
Thanks for your interest in this; I think the answer if at all will come from someone who has access to a county marriage index but this could be from any county in England!
