In the 1901 census I have found Mary A Williams age 32 born abt 1869 Marazion with a Wm R Williams age 35 born Camborne in the St Ives administrative district. He was a plasterer journeyman. By 1902 Mary Williams was living in Camborne where Wm Williams was born.

suzard's post regarding a marriage  Jun qtr 1900 St Columb
Mary Ann Beare Edwin John Williams 5c 163 has the correct surname and in Mary's case the right christian name but the christian name of Willams isnt right. 

Any help will be appreciated

Did they have any children?  A copy of one of the birth certs will give you Mary's maiden name and make it easier to find the marriage

What about

WILLIAMS  William Richard = OATS Mary Ann Dec 1/4 1892 Penzance  5c 427

Mary Ann OATS aged 22 can be found in Marazion in 1891 with parents William and Jane (She lists as b Ludgvan same as mother but siblings born Marazion) 1871 they are in Ludgvan so it appears Ludgvan is her correct pob...........Cheers Kris  Cheesy

Mary and her husband didn't have any children.

Mary's surname is Bear but the information about the Oats may be useful for a contact of mine.

What was the address for Mary and William in 1901 please?

how do you know that Mary is def. Mary Ann Bear and not Mary Ann Oats?

how do you know where they were living in 1902

Mary Williams name was on her mother's death certificate (1902)and Mary was living in Camborne. Mary's mother was a Beare and her place of death was Marazion.

It would appear that they were in Camborne during the 1901 census.,but this still doesn't help me regarding the name of the couple in the 1900 marriage St Columb.
I think that I will send for the certificate and see what happens.

Hello - yes they did if you have the correct 1901 entry!! Living in Fore St (Red Lion Tavern) St Ives - William E Williams a plasterer journeyman b Camborne

William J aged 3 and Richard aged 8 - both b Marazion

If you know for a fact that the Mary and William you are researching had no children - then you have the wrong 1901 entry

Thanks for your help.

I used the 1901 England and Wales census decoder to find the names of Williams and Mary's and I found to my surprise two with the same names and both woman born in Marazion and their husbands in Camborne and their year of births were close as well. On top of that one is a plasterer journeyman and the other a plasterer. Roll Eyes

The William J Williams plasterer in Camborne during the 1901 census will most likely be the correct one as the couple were living in Camborne in 1902.

So - this marriage entry applies to the 1901 entry for William R Williams journeyman plasterer with the 2 children I showed above and whose details were in your opening message

What was the birthyear of the Mary Ann Williams nee Beare that you are researching.  You have told us that her birthplace was Marazion

How do you know her husband was William and that he was a plasterer - apart from the 1901 census entries

Was Mary Ann single in 1891?  That will help with any marriage search.  I cannot find an 1881/ 1891 entry for Mary A Bear(e) b Marazion

Looking at the 1902 deaths on freebmd - was her mother Hannah aged 67 or Sarah aged 63 - or neither

Since your reply I have been told the 1901 address of Mary Williams' and she is the person I have been looking for as she is living in the same street in 1902 when she registered her mother's Hannah's death.

Why Mary put Marazion as her place of birth for 1901 when in all other census' is was Guval I don't know.
