Terry Pratchett's Granny Weatherwax...

Hi all,
This is a puzzle which both myself and another person researching the SADLER family of Lullington & Beckington, Somerset have run across: where is Henry Sadler...
Here's the story...
He appears in the 1841 Census with his wife Louisa (as Henry & Lucasia Tadler), but then disappears from view entirely.
The obvious answer is that he died - but neither myself nor Jane has been able to find a record of death for a Henry Sadler in Frome until 1886 (Apr qtr 1886 vol 5 c p 361). His wife Louisa definitely died in 1890 (ec qtr 1890 Frome district voc 5c p 341). So, taking a giant leap and assuming that this IS him, where is he between the 1841 & 1881 Census? We have both searched for him (my searches were for Henry Sadler, b. 1810 Somerset, +/- 10 years) in each census return from 1851 to 1881 and beyond. No luck.
Jane did a basic census transcription for the SADLER family, as follows:
On the 1841 census Henry and Louisa are with their children Lucy and Frances (as Tadler...) 1851 census on her own with family- Eliza 18 Lucy 16 Francis 10 James 7 Richard 4- no Henry 1861 census Living with Aaron Rose and wife Lucy (nee Sadler) - no Henry 1871 " " " - no Henry 1881 " " " - no Henry
Ideas anyone???
Regards,
Patricia

Hi there Julie,
Thanks for the reply - that could be him, although Brigde could be Bridgewater, which is quite a distance from Lullington, where he was born, but we'll follow it up as best we can and see, that is the interesting part of family history ;-)
Regards,
Patricia

Hi all,
We need to investigate further - but it looks as if Henry Sadler was transported in 1849, so thanks muchly to Anita for thinking of that - amazingly enough it didn't occur to me...
Thanks to Julie as well for thinking of H S...
Regards,
Patricia
