American Villa. Wales. Family home. Built 1897.

I am trying to find a Thomas DAVIES, B.1849 a Carpenter, and Wife Ann DAVIES B 1850, together with his children Griffith Frederick DAVIES and twin Thomas John DAVIES Born 1874, and David DAVIES Born 1877 and Mary Elizabeth DAVIES B.1878. They appear on the 1881 UK census, so would have emmigrated Between 1881-1886. They returned home to Wales and in 1897 build two american style houses that still stand. They were all from Llandybie Carmarthenshire, Wales.

If they went to New York you could try www.castlegarden.org but not much detail is given on the manifests at that time.

The first list with ann and family seems to fit the bill, I did not know about the infant William, but there was a story that one number of the family died in the US. I have searched and searched passenger lists, where did you get these details from? The house I was born in is shown on my profile. It was built in 1897 after the family returned. They are the only two of their kind in the UK and are Grade 2 listed buildings of interest and importance. Thank you kindly for the help you have given me. Regards: Roger. PS. Thomas DAVIES was a Carpenter/Joiner.
