We are looking for John  and Clara Haines in the 1851 Census. They were living in Hertingfordbury in the 1841 Census aged 60 and 56 respectively.

This may be Clara's death but unfortunately the reference hasn't included age at death

Hi Simon,

The Hertingfordbury Parish Register records the burial of Clara HAINES of Hertford on 26th September 1856 age 75.

Hello Peter

Thanks for this very interesting snippet of information.

In the 1841 Census Clara's age is recorded as 46 (I think) which would indicate that she was born in 1784 and therefore 72 when buried.

However I would imagine that these 2 woman are one and the same. Perhaps her birth date should be 1781. She came from Petworth in Hants. No doubt her baptismal record is on the local Parish Register.

However her husbands date of demise still remains a mystery!
