Hello everyone in Devon
Samuel George Yeo married Margaret Jane Yeo in Birkenhead 1888 and had a son called Samuel Henry Yeo b May 1888. Samuel George was mariner who may have died at sea in 1889 because I found this on the deaths at sea bmd registers and his widow Margaret remarried in 1898 to a James Allan Hough (or Allen) at St Andrew's Bebington in Cheshire.
I found that Samuel George Yeo may have been born in the Exmouth/Withycombe Regis area about 1866 and had a brother and sister also born in this area of Devon. I found a long list of Yeo's on the LDS Family Search site which had many from the Swimbridge and South Tawton area of Devon. I also found a William H B Yeo also living in Birkenhead on the census and he was born abt 1852 in South Tawton/Swimbridge and I think he may have been related to Samuel George Yeo in some way, again working off the LDS list. I know there is also a one name study site of the Yeo surname so I hope that there is someone out there who has done their family history which include these two people on them.
Harry J Yeo did go to the USA settling down in Everett ward 4, Middlesex Massachusetts according to the US census records all the way from 1900 to 1930. Samuel George Yeo is also on the Ancestry immigration records going to the USA in 1884 whilst his widow and son Margaret and Samuel jnr went to the USA in 1895 for a short while according to the shipping records on Ancestry and Find My Past. She was listed as going to Manchester, but there are many in New England and she may have been visiting Harry, but there is no address on the early records unfortunately.
I hope someone can help me because I am sure that I do have the right census records but would like some confirmation about Samuel George Yeo b abt 1866. Any information will be well received from the many who must have researched the Yeo surname.

Thank you for the information about the Yeo family which was quite helpful but all I really need now is to have it confirmed that the Samuel G Yeo mentioned is the one who married Margaret Jane Edge in Birkenhead 1888. But I do really think he is the one and I will take note of everything you have sent to me via Rootschat.
