sarah blower & john blower marriage
« on: Tuesday 15 April 08 07:29 BST (UK) »

trying to find a marriage for Sarah Elizabeh Blower b abt 1846 Minsterley, Sal to John James Blower (possibly b abt 1840 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire.
Would have been married in either Shropshire, Staffordshire or Essex.
Info from 1871 census from Leyton, Essex shows John Blower's birth place as a blank line while Sarah's is shown as Wolverhampton when I know she was born in Minsterley.
I am assuming (I know I shouldn't do that) that the census taker wrote the info on the wrong line.

Sarah's parents are James Blower b 1811, Westbury, Sal & Hannah Done b 1811 Minsterley, Sal.
No known parents for John

First child I have is Kate Blower b abt 1867 in Minsterley, Shropshire so would expect the marriage year to be just prior to that.
Sarah's maiden name was Blower.

I cannot find them in 1881.  Do you have later census?   Sarah is a Female servant in 1861 and there is a possible John, age 22 b Wolverhampton, with parents John and Mary A in Misterley.  RG9 2247 F33 p5   However there do seem to be several born around that time in Wolverhampton so treat that with caution.   Finding them in a later census would be very helpful to establish his correct place of birth.   What more do you know about them??

The family do not appear on the 1881 census anywhere.
The had a 64 acre dairy farm (Phillibrook Farm) in Leyton, Essex.
Sarah died in 1883 and my GGgrandfather, Herbert James Blower b 1878 was adopted by his aunty, Mary Crowder (nee Blower), Sarah's sister, they emmigrated to Tasmania, Australia. The other children and their father went to the USA at some point.
I have found all Sarah's family but nothing on the father , John James Blower.
I am trying to find a marriage now to see if I can trace John James from that.

Where did Sarah die?   Were they still in Essex?
