my dad's family were from Bosbury, Ashperton and surrounding area. Like most families, they worked on local farms. i was wondering if there would be any records relating to these type of workers?

There's the births, marriages, deaths records from 1837. And the census 1841 to 1901. Parish records. To name the main ones,
They should be on those but it's doubtful there will be any other records relating to farm labourers as a special group.
Have you got anything on them so far?

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. Yes, I have managed to build this branch of my tree using BMD records and censuses. I will be so glad when we can access the 1911 census as this will answer so many questions for me. It is interesting to build a picture of where and who they worked for. I have the address where my great grandmother grew up. Her name was Mary Parsons and she lived at Heywood lane cottages, Ashperton. So it would make sense to find out about neighbouring farms I suppose. thanks once again Jo

You could look up all sorts of things, wages, types or work, how they lived etc. I always think that seeing how they lived gives us a better idea of the lives they lead, and how different it all is to our lives now.
There's a thread about this at the moment

last year I took a ride out to Ashperton and it was lovely. The church is so pretty and I wandered around the graveyard searching for ancestors. Unfortunately, like most working families they probably could'nt afford grave stones. I couldn't find the address where they lived, but it gave me a nice feeling just being there. Thanks for the link to the thread you mentioned. I will check it out. Jo
