Looking for ancestors of Edwin George

Hello - I am trying to find parents/family of Edwin George born 20 April 1830 Wigtown.  He left Scotland and married in Ballarat, Australia 1855. Any information would be appreciated.

A quick look on Census 1881 for surname GEORGE in Wigtown, and most of the 64 results came up with an 'alternative spelling' MC GEOCH or GEOCH - might be something to keep in mind if you haven't come across it before  Grin
Would Edward's children's names hold any clues as to his parents?
