Morfey Wood - Peasemarsh
« on: Saturday 10 November 07 10:10 GMT (UK) »

On the east side of the road at the entrance to Church Lane, Peasemarsh, there is woodland called Morfey Wood.

Can anyone help with regard to which Morfey it was named after, when and why.

Any help would be appreciated

A visit to my local reference library at Hastings today revealed an 1872  map showing the wood so named.

Can anyone help with further information.

Hi Dave,

I have a great deal of information on the Morfey's from Peasemarsh as from about the 1820's onwards I have Grandparents, G/Grandparents and G/G/Grandparents from that area.

There is too much to cover here, if you are able to contact me privately I'll gladly share the information. I am not sure how we achieve the privacy bit here.

What is your connection to the Morfey line?

Regards,

Ian Morfey
