I'm researching a family whose two sons, Joseph and Peter Harrison, went from York to America. Their parents were Quakers, Thomas Harrison and Elizabeth Denison. Joseph was born c.1709, Peter in 1716. Peter became a famous architect, and an online biographical source says that he was trained "presumably by William Etty of York, 1675 - 1734, and his son John Etty, 1705 - 1738". I can't find any reference to William Etty (except for a much later chap who was a painter). The source puts him alongside Vanbrugh and Jerman as architects of the late Baroque. Can anyone shed any light?
