I'm looking for an Ann Westwick born circa 1761 in Yorkshire.
I had found an Ann Westwick born 1861 in Sunderland who fit in perfectly with a marriage in 1785 in Durham. That Ann Westwick's family came from barnard Castle C° Durham but I've just had access to the original transcript for the baptism of one of her children and it says she comes from "Loos/Leed/ Lood??? Yorkshire. I can't find any Ann Westwick from Yorkshire on the IGI or on the parish records I've looked at. I'd be really grateful if someone could have a look for me as I may be missing something.
Regards

Hi French,
There is an Ann Westwick born in Barnard Castle in 1763 on the IGI as well as the one born in Sunderland in 1763. I'm not sure how you know the one from Sunderland had family from Barnard Castle. Also, where did you see the original transcript of her child's baptism? I am surprised that a mother's place of birth was shown on a baptism entry in 1780's.
There are baptisms for some of their children on the Bishop's Transcripts in Familysearch (assuming she is the one who married John Revely)
Cheers
Nannawilk.

Hello Nannawilk,
My Ann Westwick married John Revely in Durham on 27 Nov 1875. John Revely was born in Sunderland in 1760, son of William and Mary, both of that parish. I had a choice between the Ann Westwick born Sunderland and the one born Barnard Castle and I thought that the one in Sunderland was more of a possibility.
I had a contact on Genes Reunited and we discovered we have the same ancestors in John Revely and Ann Westwick. She has sent me a photo she took of the original entry on the parish records for the birth of their son, William. All the entries on that page have the mother's place of birth. The town is difficult to read but it clearly states Yorkshire.
On the IGI there are two baptisms in Leeds around the time Ann should have been born. One was Pharas Westwivk, 1757 and the other for Timothy in 1760. Their father was Bartholomew Westwick. So, there were Westwicks living in Leeds in the 1750s/60s.
