DURRANT and ATTREED Families.
« on: Tuesday 15 April 08 16:38 BST (UK) »

Hi.

Looking up some family history for a friend. Her great grandparents are called:

Herbert Durrant and Mary Durrant (were not sure if mary was right)
and Charles Attreed and Violet Attreed.

They lived in Essex. I have no other information. Any info from you guys?
Any is appreciated.

Death?

Violet Attreed July 1987 Barking and Dagenham age 74 Vol 11 Page 10
DOB 24/11/1912

There is another Violet Attreed death registration in Sept 1993 but the district is Waltham Forest London, not Essex (DOB 13/11/1911)

DOB 25/01/1910

Is this the right sort of time period to be looking at?

So you do have more information!!!! Why not post it and help with the search

Ages of any of their children -which may narrow the time scale for a marriage?

For whom were you given the "rough date" of 1898

More information would be of assistance in the search

Otherwise we are just guessing

If you're not sure of dates, its best to work backwards from what you do know. Does your friend know the approx date of birth of her grandparents, ie; children of Charles and Violet Attreed and Herbert and Mary? Durrant?

Getting the birth certificate of one of their children will give the mother's maiden name and make it easier to look for a marriage, which will then give their father's name/occupation/location etc.
