Jack Mosedale help needed
« on: Tuesday 15 April 08 21:32 BST (UK) »

I'm not sure where to look for information on post 1901 family and wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction.  I am looking for Jack Mosedale born about 1900 in the Nottingham area, married to Florence.  Children born mid to late 1920's, Kath, Gladys, Lorna, Maisie, Eunice and John.

Can anyone offer any advice please?

Hi Lynne

Do you know if he had any siblings?  The only Mosedale in the 1901 census around that age is a John Wm Mosedale. I know sometimes John's were know as Jacks. Do you have his marriage certificate which will give his fathers name?

Hi Carol

Thanks for your reply.  This was actually a request on behalf of a friend.  We have discovered that her partner has the same name as me and the family appeared to come from the same area.  The John William you mention is my great uncle and I hadn't even considered the connection could be that close.  However, last night I found JW's marriage to a Florence!  I also checked some births and found all the names mentioned above with the same Mother's maiden name (the same as Florence).  I think that is pretty conclusive evidence that we share great grandparents.

Isn't life strange sometimes!
