Hello to everyone Iam back once again with another ancestor of mine. Found out information about a Frederick Hodge from Faversham Kent England, he married a Phillis Lydia Woodger Simmonds from England on the 21/6/1858 and he passed away also in Australia on the 29/6/1912 his occupation was a storeman according to his marriage certificate his parents are listed as a Henry Hodge and Eliza Harris, Phillis's parents are also listed as a Thomas Simmonds and Hannah Long, this is great when you discover this usually the parents are listed on the death certificate. Is anyone familiar with this family. Keep safe.

The IGI at www.familysearch.org has a few girls baptised to a Henry and Eliza HODGE at Faversham in the 1830s. These are extracted entries, and it looks like only the girls have been done. There is a Frederick there as well but it is a submitted entry, and should not be fully trusted. You can order the microfilms of the parish records through your local LDS FHC.
The IGI has Phillis baptised at Maidstone on 12 Jul 1835, along with a number of siblings.
Someone else may be able to find them in the census for you as well.

One of the children on the IGI was a Tamar, baptised in 1845, obviously more than an infant, but looks certain to be the same family, an extracted record. Also some submitted ones with Fredrick and Onslow.

The Henry HODGE from Benenden may be yours, but I don't think you can be sure.
As he was a mariner it is likely that he was brought up near the sea. He could have moved there, of course.
There are no parish records for Faversham in the early 1800s on the IGI so it may be that your Henry HODGE has not been included yet.

Hello Bearkat, thanks for your reply to my message regarding Henry Hodge, apparently he married around 1833 Kent England to a Eliza S. Harris also in the IGI his son Frederick came out to Australia and is listed being a passenger in the Mariner Vessels not by the State Records of N.S.W. I hope that Iam getting somewhere its hard from here. Have a good weekend.
Thanks Janet

No parents are listed - perhaps the enumerator was having a bad day as the end of the preceding page doesn't quite tally either
RG9/535 folio 20 page 36
Unfortunately Henry HODGE has died by 1851 but given that Eliza says she was born in Faversham (1851 census), Faverhsham would be a good place to start looking for their marriage. Furthermore, there are other relatives mentioned in both the 1851 and 1861 census extracts that I have listed - these should be helpful in tracing the family back and establish family relationships.
If the IGI entries are "submitted" rather than "extracted" then they need to be treated with caution and verified - they have been submitted by somebody (like you or I) and could be guesswork.
