Could someone with the Chipping Norton parish records please check for:
-the marriage of John TILLING & Sarah (both born around 1781 in Chipping Norton)
-any TILLING baptisms between 1795 & 1820

Hi
I checked my copy of the OFHS transcribed prs for St. Mary Chipping Norton
No sign of the marriage taking place there
I then checked the OFHS Oxfordshire Parish Marriage Index unfortunately there was no marriage for John & Sarah on there either 
Tried all sorts of variants of the name.

Elizth TILLIN 31 Aug 1817 d John & Sarah, shoemaker
John TILLING 2 Feb 1820 s John & Sarah, shoemaker
William TILLING 11 Jan 1824 s John & Sarah, shoemaker
Sarah TILING 28 May 1826 d John & Sarah, shoemaker
Dinah TILLING 21 Dec 1828 d John & Sarah, shoemaker
No sign of John's baptism, the only TILLING bapt prior to the above group was a Richard in 1777
Chipping Norton burials
Sarah TILLING 2 Mar 1853 age 72
John TILLING 27 Mar 1853 age 73

Thank you very much for that Myfi. I was hoping to find John & Sarah's marriage. I also found a Hannah Tilling who married Timothy Slatter in 1833 in Chipping Norton, and I've found her in the 1841 census in Chipping Norton, with 2 children, aged 25, so putting her birth year c1816. I believe her husband was sent to Australia as a convict in 1840. I was kind of hoping Hannah would be another of John & Sarah's children, as I'm not sure how many Tillings from Chipping Norton aren't connected to my tree.

It is possible that Hannah could have been a child of John & Sarah, likewise a couple of the children* in this list of burials

nothing on the IGI either for the baptisms of Richard, John, Rebecca & Hannah so perhaps they were born/bapt in one of the parishes not included.
Could this be Hannah's burial?

Thank you for those extra bits of information Myfi.
In the 1841 Oxford census John's POB is listed as 'in county', and I can't find Sarah anywhere, but everyone who has John & Sarah in their tree has their date and place of birth as c1781, Chipping Norton, Oxford. However, I have just found John & Sarah Tilling in the 1851 census, with their surname spelt differently. John is listed as born c1783 in Gloucestershire, and Sarah is listed as born c1779 in Monmouthshire, Wales. So now I have the possibility that someone has made an assumption on the birth details and every other researcher has just copied it without verifying. I will now head over to the relevant boards to see what I can find.
