Hi, I am trying to track down a grave in the Heston (St. Leonard's) graveyard and have emailed the Parish Registrar Mr Lawson Cockcroft for information. You may find the following link useful: http://www.parishofheston.freeuk.com/page10.htmlI believe that there are several significant graves here including Sir Joseph Banks (the Botanist - on the Beagle and with Capt. James Cook to Australia). Good luck Kind regards Kirsten Netherlands Mr Lawson Cockcroft is very helpful and is in the parish office most Thursdays for personal visits. One thing to note is that Heston Churchyard is one of the largest CE churchyards in England and is Not the best kept. To the point that it is overgrown in many places.

My grandparents, aunt and cousin are also buried in St Leonards, but because they were cremated they were very close to the church. It took me ages to find the plague for my grandparents and I knew roughly where to look. I have photos of the church if you are interested. Where did they live in Heston. I use to visit there alot as a child. Kind regards

Thank you for the offer of photo of Church but I already have one. The family lived at Hounslow, according to information on the Baptism Certificate of 1815. I suppose St Leonards Church Heston was the nearest one. Thought I might learn more about the family from Church records pre that date. I do appreciate your interest and kind offer. Korne

Hi Korne
I'm sure you're not expecting this.
I was at the London Metropolitan Archives today.
From St LeonardsHeston/ Hounslow Burial Register
1815, Potts Alexander, (Abode) Hounslow, (When buried) July 25, (age) 10 years
I then checked the baptism records 1805-1808, but there's nothing there.
Re: the other Potts children, were they baptsized soon after birth or not? If they were, then the chances are that Alexander was baptized elsewhere, if they weren't, I'll extend the search peiod after 1808 next time I go if you want.
Dawn

Hello Dawn, You were quick, thank you. The Alexander Potts entry told me where he had lived which was good, unfortunately the parents names are not mentioned. I was hoping they would be. The other Potts children were Baptized soon after birth so I wont ask you to look any further. Thanks again Korne
