Looking for the birthplace of Margaret Hepburn who died at Prinlaws, Leslie, Fife in 1864 aged 85 yrs. She was a widow, maiden name Hay.

She is not showing in Fife under either Hepburn or Hay (I've double checked on SP to make sure I'm not missing it on the (mis  ) transcriptons.
Any more info on her (is this David Hepburn's wife that Tom is trying to track down?)

Yes Monica, she is the widow of David Hepburn who is on her DC as a Bleacher. They were married on 15 Feb 1815 at Leslie, Fife.
Her son William was the informant
I think her husband David died pre 1855

I thought I had found David and Margaret together in 1841 with a son John living in Orwell, Kinross but he is down as a smith. I cannot easily see another David and Margaret combination that year, or a Margaret Hepburn/Hay that stands out.
In 1851, the David Hepburn from Orwell is alone with son John. There is however a Margaret Hepburn that might connect with the occupation you gave for David. She is showing as living alone on the index
