Forster / Byatt - Stoke / Chebsey
« on: Wednesday 16 April 08 22:39 BST (UK) »

I have unearthed a letter sent to my mother which I think must be from the late 50’s and this refers to a cousin, Miss Martha Forster.
Martha had a brother Joshua and sisters Lily and Pattie. The Forsters were then quite elderly and Martha at the time was in Westcliffe Hospital in Chell and Joshua’s son lived in Regents Road, Stoke.
These is a reference to our Aunties who were the Byatt sisters from Chebsey.
Forster is a name I have not come across in our family tree and I cannot find how they fit in and I am hoping somebody can help shed some light.

Hi Peter

I have some Forsters in my family tree who were in Tunstall certainly from 1850's until the early 1900's. I have then lost track of some of them apart from those in my direct line who moved to Silverdale.

There is a John, Frances and Hannah Forster who I cannot find after the early 1900's. I know that there only a few Forsters in that area between 1850 & 1900.

I will have a look and see if I can find anything and get back to you!

Cheers

Thanks Bel,
I am stumped with these and any help would be appreciated.
I do know there were some Forsters in Wolstanton and in Burslem and I think these are close to Tunstall.
