Hello,
I am looking for my g.g.grandfather William John HARDY b. 1851c whose wife was Sarah Jane HARDY. They had the following children that I know of: Hubert E HARDY, Austin HARDY, and Etheldred HARDY. Could possibly have had sons Phillip Andrew and Basil Joseph HARDY
William was an artist and was born in Clerkenwell. I have only located him on the 1881 census Civil Parish: St George Bloomsbury County:London, Country England.
If any one could do a lookup for the 1891 or 1871 census I would very much appreciate it.
Thank you
Reenie

20000 or bust ...... whats a Marquessate anyway ?
|
Given the kids ages on the 1881, they were probably not married till the late 1870s ...
do you want them in 1871 as single people - perhaps with their own parents ?

So! Miss Rudge ...
Best guess:
1861 RG9/1772 5 4 Pitchcombe, Gloucestershire Village Ann Kentfield, head, wid, 76, occupation 'Not any', b. St James London Elizabeth Cooper, sister, unm, 75, Not any, b. London Cornelia Martha Rudge, niece, mar, 31, Not any, b. Middlesex Bow Sarah Jane Rudge, great niece, 5, scholar, b. Whitechapel Mary C Rudge, great niece, 4, scholar, b. Middlesex Bow
what a great name to research! If you want to know dad's name, just search FreeBMD for a marriage name Rudge to a woman first name Cornelia Martha - there's only one

HI,
Thanks so much to The Newfster and Tati. I'm over the moon.
Thanks for looking Wiliam John Hardy up on the census for me. He did marry Sarah Jane Rudge, sorry I forgot to mention it. I did not know about the children Mary or Les. Basil was born in 1891, so it must have been after the census was taken. They must have come to OZ sometime after he was born, as they had two more children in OZ in 1895.
Would it be possible for you to look up William John Hardy b 1851c in the 1861 census? I looked on an index for it, and I think he is in a household schedule no 82.
Thanks again.
Reenie.
