2nd West Yorks Militia circa 1811

I'm having difficulty tracing the baptism of an ancestor which I believe was around 1811. I've found a possible father who was in the 2nd West Yorkshire Militia. Does anyone know where I could find out where the Militia were based around this time, please, as this might give me clues as to where to find the baptism?  mjn

 Hi mjn,
There was a little booklet published thru Bradford FHS about 11 years ago dealing with the 1st West York Regiment of Militia 1798-1815.   
In the booklet there were a number of  references to  the Regiment's movements et al  which were attributed to The Leeds Mercury.  This paper  seems to have carried regular items about the Militia.   Maybe The Leeds Mercury archives  would be of help to you as there may- or almost certainly- have been reference to 2nd West Yks militia also .

Just a thought.

Browsing down the list of WRY  requests brought me to a post in which someone is asking about the availabilty of the Leeds Mercury online.   Below is the topic link- hope this cut n paste of the link works for you.  Don't know if 1811 is included- but it may pay to check this out.
