FIND MY PAST lookup?- completed
« on: Friday 18 April 08 12:37 BST (UK) »

Am (still) looking for Albert Hamilton Livingston born c1893, emigrated to Australia c1911/12?, died WWI.
Last word anyone had of him was postcard to my mother-in-law dated 8 days before his death. She was only a small child and kept the card which we still have.

Searched on findmypast website for Bertie going to Australia (was aged 18 according to his father). Below is the only close match I could find. Can anyone look this man up on findmypast to see what other details are listed.

Albert A. Livingstone
1912 London to Sydney, Australia

Many thanks.

Kerry- thanks very much for looking up the entry so quickly. I'm pretty certain that it's the one I'm looking for although index listed him as Albert A. and he was really Albert H.

Dee- thank you also. I found that before and it has lots of useful information. School should be Cullycapple and he also went to Aghadowey School (uncle lived between the two schools).

Seems like Bertie left for Australia when my mother-in-law was almost 2 years old so she wouldn't have remembered him but suspect he came back to Ireland on leave during the War and that's how she remembered him and why he sent her the postcard. Wish we'd asked more questions while she was still alive.
