He could have been born quite early on.

I'm not into pageantry, etc. so know very little about who would be appointed to such offices.

Laurieclan - if we work backwards slowly we might find something but I'm not sure.

The nearest that I can get for Robert Laurie is:

Girthon (also G of Fleet) baptised 10 June 1808. parents John Laurie and Catherine Porter

and if this is him, you might even be related to me as i have Porters from that area at that time  Shocked

We still have to get back to him though.

Just checking in the Times Digital archive. Robert Laurie, King of Arms died in London in 1882, and a sale of his estate was held in March of the same year. His will was valued at £42,000

His widow Julia, daughter of Charles William Fletcher, died in Richmond, Surrey on 18 December 1921. She was 88

Marriage was in Kensington in 1872 (Kensingotn Sep 1872 Folio 1a Page 155)

Maybe he was married previously?

it just says that he was in the king at arms and he came to barrow to sign a town charter and that he find som e family while he was ere and that family was ours
