Hello all
I am trying to trace the mother of one of my ancestors and have been told that it could be Mary Burton born c1802 in Gayle, Hawes, Yorkshire. She was christened 31 oct 1809 .
A relative of mine thinks that this is my ancestors mother , but the Mary I am looking for gave birth in 1812 to a Baby called John Burton, she would therefore have only been aged about 10 years old when he was born.
She died 2 Mar 1812 (could this have been in child birth).
Is there any way I can find out what she died of , The details I have are from a web site and can not contact the person whose site it is.
Any suggestions please.

The parents of the Mary Burton of Gayle bap 31/10/1809 were James Burton and Rose Clarkson.
They married at Hawes Nov 23rd 1775 and had 10 children.
James Burton of Askrigg was bap Dec 27th 1753 and died April 18th 1842 at Appersett aged 91.
He was the son of George Burton and Marthe Wittering.
Rose Clarkson of Simonstone was bap March 28th 1753 and died Nov 7th 1829 at Appersett aged 77.
Her father was Joseph Clarkson.
As to the actual birth date of Margaret Burton, then it must have been prior to 1800 as her mother would have been 47 years old by then.
I have her date as c 1798 but I have no way of proving this.
There is no record of a baptism of a John Burton son of Mary in the Askrigg PR about that time.
To add to the confusion, a Mary Burton was buried at Hawes March 2nd 1812 BUT:
a Mary Burton of Gayle maried John Metcalfe of Hawes July 10th 1813 at Hawes.
By the way, James and Rose Burton had 2 dau named Mary The first bap May 27th 1789 died May 16th 1790 at Gayle.

Hello Daniel
John Burton was baptized 13.06.1812 in Marske by Richmond.
I am looking at Hawes for a mother Mary as this is information that I was sent, I am not sure as to wether the information is correct, but I am just checking all the possibilities out.
I cannot find a Mary Burton anywhere with a John Robinson ( The father named on the Baptism)
Any information would be brilliant
