I have a reference on the 1841 and 1851 Census for Westley in Cambridgeshire for my 2 x GF being born in "Rowsdenheath" in Essex in about 1818. For his marriage in 1843 in Carlton, Cambridgeshire to Eliza Rivett it gives his father as John, and he an Ag Lab. (CHFS Parish Registers)
I cannot see any Parish or location in Essex, with that name, and I have tried the Essex FHS Website, maps, and even Google. All his near relatives from around that period are Cambridgeshire born and bred. Family History Online and even the IGI do not list his birth.
I have a number of Johns who could be his father so I need to know his mother. Does anyone have any ideas where I go now?

And just to tidy things up, here's his baptism entry at Ramsden Crays parish church;
14th February 1819 Joseph Henry Rollison son of John and Rebecca, Ramsden Crays, Labourer. (sic).
Hope this helps.

Hi Peter
Yes, I noticed that Paco seemed to be researching the same names as you, so I hoped you'd link up!
I've got fiche of the actual Ramsden Crays parish registers, so the info. is straight from the vicars pen (so to speak).
The fiche reference number as catalogued by the Essex Record Office is;
D/P 371/1/5 which covers baptisms from 1813 to 1923 in Ramsden Crays.
All the best with your research.

Peter
Glad I could help.
I think you and Paco need to get together. He/She's put up another Rollison post on the Essex Requests board and it's asking the same things as you!
Also seems to be a bit angry!!!!!
