Hi Kath, Its hard to say. But remember that Charles Junior and his brother in law also Ostlers so could just be like father like son. Regards Chrissi
Sorry Chrissi, didn't realise that Charles Junior was also an Ostler, I had seen him on the 1871 as a labourer and then coal porter on the 1891, but haven't seen the other censuses.
Have been searching for the missing Robins siblings in the 1871; but they don't seem to want to be found at the moment, will have another go later.
Do you know whom the witnesses are on Emily's marriage cert? There could be clues there
Regards, Kath

Deaths Dec 1865 Robins Edward Richmond S 2a 159 Robins Sarah Richmond S 2a 159
The same page so the deaths were very likely to have been registered at the same time.
Whereas
Deaths Jun 1892 Robins Charles 42 Richmond, S. 2a 217

Have searched and searched in 1871 but to no avail I am pretty sure if we found the Robins on the 1871 census it would help with the mystery of Emily.
On the National Archives website there is an entry for a Charles Robins born 1847, service in the Royal Marine Light Infantry, Plymouth Division. Date Range 1856-1872. Could possibly account for his apparent absence on the 1861 census or of course not your Charles at all.
Regards, Kath

I would check again for 'Emily's' or 'Emma's' death registration in Brentford registration district either before or after her husband's death not just after. Would you only have looked for Emily Fishlocks and ignored Emmas would you only have searched from 1945 onwards?
Regards
Valda
