Okay - this is what I have:
As Nell said,
- Thomas s/o William & Ann of Yateley, born 12.2.1807, baptised 15.3.1807
His parents marriage:
- May 11 1799 William Tice Burrows, bach otp & Ann Parr, spin otp Banns
Their other children (Thomas's siblings):
- Bp Mar 9 1800 William Tice Burrows s/o William Tice & Ann Burrows - Apr 5 1801 John Tice Burrows s/o William & Ann Tice Burrows - Jun 13 1802 James Burrows s/o William & Ann Tice Burrows - May 19 1816 Frances d/o William & Ann Tice of Yateley, labourer.
Their father - William Tice Burrows - was illegitimate - hence the double name (although it seems to have been a bit of an affectation, as he wasn't baptised Tice Burrows, and I think the poor parish clerk has got thoroughly confused!!):
- Jan 20 1773 William Tyse (illegitimate) s/o William Tyse & Maria Burrows.
His father William Tyse was baptised:
- Feb 1 1749 William s/o John & Mary Tyse.
Siblings:
- Nov 20 1747 John - Nov 6 1748 Benjamin (buried 1749) - Feb 4 1751 Mary & Frances (twin daughters, Mary buried 1752, Frances buried 1753) - Jan 21 1754 Benjamin (this is my greatx5 grandfather) - Nov 17 1756 James
Their mother Mary was buried Oct 13 1767.
After having William Tice Burrows with Maria in 1773, William snr , miller of the parish of Yateley, appears to have married Apr 16 1775 to Sarah Harrison, spinster of Elstead, Surrey by licence.
I hope you can unravel all that -- don't hesitate to get back to me with any questions - I'll answer them if I can!!
Jill

WOW! Jill, I'm blown away - and there's you saying you didn't know much!!!
I'm just trying to understand it all - so much info in such a short space of time.
Am I correct in thinking that Ann PARR m. in 1799 is also Ann BURROWS / Ann TICE BURROWS / Ann TICE as mentioned on her off-springs bap. details and this is were the parish clerk was confused?!?
But apart from that I think I follow the rest of what you have told me.
Thanks for all your input - I need a lie down now lol
best wishes,
Ian.

Hi Ian,
Yes - that would be my take on the Ann Parr/Tice/Burrows etc lady.
Wouldn't it be interesting to see if she was related to Catherine Parr - one of Henry VIII's wives? But that's another story...
For what it's worth, I think your William and my Benjamin's parents were John Tice and Mary Plim who married at St George's Chapel, Mayfair, London on 27 April 1746. The marriage entry states that John was from Staines in Middlesex and Mary from Egham in Surrey - within a couple of miles of each other, and neither very far from Yateley or Elstead, which is where I think John was baptised in 1712.
Hope you enjoy your lie down!!
Jill
